How ToolBeacon earns money from outbound links, and why it does not change what we recommend.

Last reviewed 29 October 2026

The plain statement

Some links on ToolBeacon are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up for a paid plan, the provider may pay us a commission. You pay exactly the same price either way.

What this does not affect

  • Which tools we list. Every listing is added because it is relevant to a task, not because a programme exists.
  • What we say. Editorial verdicts, strengths, and limitations are written before any commercial relationship exists.
  • Comparison tables. These are generated from the same record as the listing. There is no way for a commission to change a row.
  • Ranking. We do not publish a numerical ranking of tools. Where a list is ordered, the order is editorial.

How links are handled

Commercial outbound links may pass through a redirect on our own domain so we can record that a link was used. That redirect only ever forwards to a destination stored in our database for that specific tool — we do not forward arbitrary URLs. The link is opened with rel="sponsored" where it is an affiliate link.

Current status

No affiliate programme has been approved for any tool listed at launch. Tools therefore link to their official websites. When a programme is approved, the link will change and the listing will say so.

Sponsored placements

If a tool pays for placement, the listing is labelled Sponsored, sits outside the main editorial results, and is never presented as an independent recommendation. Sponsored placements do not appear in comparison tables or editorial verdicts.
